Weed Eating

Weed eating and string trimming in Asheboro, NC

I trim around fences, posts, trees, and mailboxes. Anywhere the mower cannot reach, I get by hand.

The parts a mower cannot reach

A mower is a wide, flat machine. Your yard is not. Every yard has spots the deck will never touch, and those spots are exactly where a yard starts looking neglected.

Where I trim

  • Along fence lines and under fence rails
  • Around mailbox posts, light posts, and sign posts
  • Around tree trunks and landscape beds
  • Against the foundation of the house
  • Around the air conditioning unit and utility boxes
  • Ditch banks and slopes too steep to mow safely

Careful around trees

Trimming right up against a young tree can strip the bark, and a tree that loses a ring of bark can die. I trim close enough that it looks right and stop before I damage anything.

Included on every visit

Weed eating is part of a full service cut, alongside mowing, edging, and the blow off. It is not a separate charge and I do not skip it.

If a fence line or a ditch bank has gotten completely out of hand, tell me when you ask for the estimate so I can plan enough time for it.

Common questions about weed eating

Do you trim along the whole fence?
Yes, the full fence line, both sides where I have access. If part of it borders a neighbor who would rather I stay off their side, just tell me.
Will you damage my young trees?
No. Trimming hard against a young trunk can strip the bark and kill the tree, so I stop short of the trunk and keep it looking clean without cutting into it.
Can you handle a steep ditch bank?
Usually yes. Slopes too steep to put a mower on get trimmed by hand instead. Mention it when you ask for a price so I can allow the time.
